The news from last weekend's San Francisco Pro-Am semifinal games is mostly good, a little bad. The good news is simply that the Stanford frosh are the real deal: ready to be full productive team members -- possibly even starting players -- right out of the gate. Based on the Pro-Am, Tara and Amy are going to have the very pleasant dilemma of trying to figure out how to get all the available talent onto the floor. (More ...)

New Recruits Visit Stanford - 4/20/2006

New recruits Jayne Appel and Melanie Murphy paid a
visit to campus for the annual "Admit Weekend."
They managed to take a little time out to observe the

NCAA SUB REGIONAL ROUND 2, DENVER - 3/20/2006

Stanford 88, Florida State 70






















There was an air of excitement as the players shook
hands before the tipoff.















Stanford fans were out in force.






















Wow! Candice blew away the Seminoles with
34 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal
for good measure.






















Brooke was awesome in her own right, carrying
the team in the first half and finishing with
22 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots.






















Jill turned in a solid performance,
playing inspired defense and scoring
11 points.

Next up, Oklahoma!

NCAA SUB REGIONAL ROUND 1, DENVER - 3/18 2006

Stanford 72, Southeast Missouri State 45
















Before the start of the game, Tara and Amy chatted with
retired Colorado coach Ceal Barry, while Tara's mom
looked on.






















Cissy had a great night in front of her hometown
Denver fans, scoring 10 points with 4 assists.






















Candice led the way with 21 points, 6 rebounds
and 2 steals in just 21 minutes.






















Jill contributed 11 rebounds and 9 points.






















Brooke delivered 14 points, 9 rebounds
and 3 blocks.

PAC-10 TOURNAMENT: 3/3 - 3/6/2006

So Close......

Stanford 77, Arizona 50
Stanford 73, USC 44
UCLA 85, Stanford 76 (OT)

Day 1:

The team had a chance to scout the competition,
watching Arizona beat Oregon......









....while Tara surveyed the action with Mary Murphy.


























Cardinal fans were out in force throughout the tournament.

Day 2:
















The FBC reception before the Arizona game was a great success.

















Despite sustaining a fat lip and spending some
time on the bench, Candice led all scorers in the
Arizona game with 16.






















Roz had a great night with
15 points and 4 rebounds.






















Brooke came up huge: 11 points, 11 rebounds,
6 assists, 4 blocks, 2 steals.

Day 3:


















Before the USC game, members of the Amy Tucker Fan Club
met briefly with their idol.






















Rapp had a big night against the Trojans,
hitting four threes for a total of 14 points,
to go with 6 rebounds and 2 steals.






















Brooke had a game high 15 points along
with 8 rebounds.

Day 4:

The win that almost was......























Rapp set a new Stanford single season mark
for treys, eclipsing Jamie Carey's record.




















Brooke played her heart out, scoring 22 points
with 7 rebounds and 6 assists.






















Candice led the Cardinal with a game high
23 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals.






















New came through with a double double:
10 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocked shots.


Experts disagree on how much the performance
of the Stanford card section affected the final result:








































But all that's behind us now.......

On to the NCAA Tourney!
