There was a little sputtering at first, but
the Cardinal clinched its sixth straight
regular season Pac-10 championship.
Before tip-off, the team and the fans honored
seniors Krista Rappahahn and Shelley Nweke
and their families.
Then, on to the game.......
Jill kept things afloat almost single-handedly
in the first half. She finished the game with
19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Candice came on strong in the second half,
winding up with 22 points and 3 steals.
Brooke came through with a solid effort,
scoring 11 points with 5 assists and 4 steals.
Rapp played her last game at Maples and
hit two 3 pointers.
After the game the Fast Break Club honored
Shelley and Rapp and their families. No embarrassing
stories from the families this year; everyone was on
good behavior.
The players also paid tribute to Shelley and Krista,
prompting one or two big laughs from the honorees.
And now, on to the Pac-10 Tournament!
